Loropetulams aka Fringe Flower are starting to bloom.
Weeping Youpon is starting to bloom.
I wanted to move this Clematis that grows up the Pink Dogwood Tree before it started setting buds. I might still try to move it, what do you think?
My Amaryllis are starting to set bud!
Some of the Ranunculas from last year have returned. I adore them! They look like double Anemone.
I do not know what to make of this weather. We are seriously back and forth with the windows open, the heater on and then the air conditioner on some days. I'm not sure if the rest of you have a spring indicator in your gardens or not. I do. For as long as I can remember, once my Crape Myrtles start leafing out that means no more freezes for the season. The are leafing out, so we shall see if it holds true this year.
Some of the summer bulbs that my husband has been ordering are starting to come in. I have 200 hundred waiting to be planted right now. They include:
Liatris spicata purple
Anemone coronaria 'De Caen'
Gladioli nanus mix
Allium moly luteum golden
Sparaxis tricolor mix
Here's hoping for great weekend weather for gardening!!

I just love that anemone Darla! I have some Ranunculas growing in a pot indoors. I have my finger crossed that they will bloom. I cannot believe you have clematis buds already. The Fringe Flower is so pretty. I had to join your followers list again after you came back to this blog. I had you deleted. LOL! Have a terrific weekend.

I love that your husband orders plants for you! That is so cool.
Your flowers are so pretty. Clematis seem to be pretty tough, I move mine all the time and haven't killed one yet. Sometimes they don't bloom until the next year though.

My Crape Myrtles are leafing out, too. Tecoma stans and Brugs have little sprouts at the base. There are tiny blueberries on the blueberry bushes, all in bloom.
You can't fool a pecan tree. They stand strong and silent and dark, waiting. Spring is not here yet despite those early blackberry blooms I saw yesterday.

Hey Darla Girl... I LOVE your Loropetalum. Mine is so puny, barely holding on to life. Chock it up to the climate differences, such a cruel reality. Your pink ranunculus is such a warm, rich color--my favorite.
Boy, moving that Clemmy now is risky business. I would probably wait but that's just me.
We've had pretty funky weather here too. On Monday and Tuesday there was snow and icy roads. Thursday and Friday were sunny and in the low 60s. Go figure.

I wish I was out gardening today but I'm getting ready for an afternoon at moms with the family for her birthday today. I think that spring has arrived. I'm gonna make like it is and am trying to get some things done. I will buying some color for the gardens soon. Will see what Lowe's or Home Depo have. I have liatrus seeds. I don't know anything about them but they are beautiful. I'm gonna direct sow and see what happens.

Great signs of spring. I was walking in the backyard this weekend and saw my Amaryllis starting to put up some foliage. Just incredible!
Same crazy weather here as well. Now we are keeping the windows closed due to the yellow pollen from the GA Pine Trees. I hope it comes and goes quickly like it did last year. Lingering along is no fun for my white porch swing, rocking chairs and railings. LOL... Raining as I type to hoping it is washing out the yuck for a day or two. No signs of Crepe Myrtles awakening here just yet but wont be long...
Hi Darla, We just returned from a trip to West VA. Even there, people were talking constantly about the mild winter they have had.. It has been a strange year.
We have lots of evidence of spring here (Bradford Pears blooming, Red Buds budding, Daffodils/Crocus/Hyacinths blooming, Tulips budding, etc.)
I think that Clematis's are hearty... If you move it now, it may or may not bloom much the first year.. BUT--I don't think moving it will hurt it..

I haven't noticed my crepe myrtle budding. I'll have to check it tomorrow.
I have an amaryllis inside that has never bloomed. Do you think it may if I plant it outside? Or maybe it gets too cold up here. Well except for this year. What do you think?
