New Do! (for Rosemarie)

I do not enjoy having my photos taken at all. Rosemarie put the pressure on...... So, here ya go! My 24 year old cut my hair before she left town. Having my hair cut is also something I do not enjoy, I have A LOT of hair so I have to sit still for waaay too long for me. Anyway she cut about 6 inches off. What do you think? You will not hurt my feelings, I can always put it in a ponytail until it grows out again!!

A Perfect Birthday!

Yesterday was my birthday, you already heard I know. Well the surprises just kept coming. When the girls and I returned home from Church my husband had already layed the stepping stones for my potting shed........(picture the flowers surrounding it)He had also made this stepping stone walkway down one of the hills that we live at the bottom of. Not a slope, a hill. At the bottom of this to the left is the door into the basement. Then around to the other side of the house, he put up the remaining piece of lattice from Saturday. Now I have a garden room. There is also half a whisky barrel to the right, (where will it live) the youngest bought for my birthday. To the right of the center tree is a double shepard's hook that one of the girls bought me. It will not stay there.
I also received this bird house, hubby mounted it on the end of the lattice wall.
The girls......ages, 24, 14, 12 and 10!
They talked me into a photo with them. I get my hair cut today!!!!!!!!! The 24 year old is a Hair Stylist in Daytona Beach.
This is our burst of sunshine!
I got so many gardening things between Christmas and my birthday, the ones mentioned here and then another bird feeder, bulbs (already in the ground) gloves, ID markers with a grease pencil, rubber boots.........on and on and on! Hey I then received a birthday cake after dinner last night.........I haven't had a birthday cake in 30 years!! Couldn't photograph it for the tears streaming down my face! I am a blessed woman.

Look What I Got Today!

We had one of the best Christmases yet. Christmas Eve we sat on the front porch, Raechel played Christmas songs on her flute and my husband whistled songs for us. We love doing this!We had a wonderful time waiting for the oldest to get home from Daytona Beach. Finally we got to bed around midnight, it was worth the wait. No photos of that though.
My birthday is tomorrow. I received some cash from Grandpoppy for my birthday and a gift card to Lowes from my husband for Christmas...(along with many other great gifts) anyway today I bought lattice and my husband built me this!

This will be great for my flowering vines.......I can hardly wait for spring to get started planting them. (where the is parked car is, is the downstairs apartment where Grandpoppy lives)
This is actually on the side of the house. Don't you think it will look great? I know this time of the year the gardens look dreadful............I still have a lot of grass to get up too. It's shaping up though. Tomorrow if it's not raining I get the stepping stones for my walkway to the potting shed!

Today......

Okay, I already told you that I was soooo tired last night, wanna know why? I have spent entirely too much time inside! I do not do very well if I do not spent time outdoors. Today I worked around my little new potting shed some. Started with some border grass, some is Aztec and some is Liriope, don't really know the difference other than the Aztec has white flowers and the Liriope has purple....any comments on that?
Planted some Petunias, Pineapple Sage on one back corner, planted some seeds........I know it still looks dreadful, that will soon change, I promise. The little porch is so needy and I bought some more stenciling brushes to stencil the front after Christmas.
You can see the red brick castle wall, the fruit trees and then you get to the potting shed. To the left of the potting shed where all of the little chairs are is our fire pit.
This brick walk is in front of our front porch, hubby ask me today if I would like one in front of the potting shed.............Heck yes!! Go back and look at the first pic, don't you think a walkway like this would be a great addition? Tell the truth. There is still a LOT of work to be done............having fun with it though, even if I only do a little at a time. You know the pinched nerves on both sides of my neck and the "tendonitis" they think I have in my elbow will slow you down a little. Will find out in January why my elbow doesn't work the way God intended.....can't have surgery on my neck until summer, the girls need to be out of school because I will not be able to drive for 2 1/2 weeks...Not complaining by any means, just explaining why I'm not moving as fast as usual....God is Good!!
