Flaunting over at Tootsie"s Place

Want a an agressive fast growing ground cover that loves hot dry areas?  Here's you one, Mimosa Pudica aka Sensitive Plant.  The leaves fold up when touched.  (I know that feeling sometimes)
Neglected containerized Blue Fescue grass I started from seed a couple of years ago....looks just fine to me.
Be still my heart the Astible is in her second year....looking forward to her leap year!
This Hydrangea has surprised us.  It was purchased two years ago and remained in a container until about a 6 weeks ago.  She has remained pink and has about 6 flower heads!!
The ever dependable Althea aka Rose of Sharon is starting to open..it bloomed for several months last year.  I have two very small white ones in the back of the gardens, wonder when they will bloom....if you remember sending them to me, please refresh my memory I owe you another thank  you!
Here are one of the plants that I fall in and out of love with almost daily, Four O'clocks.  I have to garden at 4 in the morning to see their beautiful blooms or smell their sweet fragrance, sigh
Last year my husband bought me two containers of dwarf Cannas, I love them.  The other are pink.  They mix will with a lot of other plants and containers too. (i also have a little over 200 bulbs to still plant, pretty sure I am going to save some of them for the fall)
Some of my latest pendants, magnets and keychains..
We have been receiving some much needed rain.  The last few weeks of breaking record highs in the 90's and triple digits was NO fun at all!!  A little cooler now...
So drop on over at Tootsie's and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Hi Darla,

Your hydrangea flower is gorgeous and I can't believe you have Rose of Sharon blooming already. Mine doesn't bloom until mid-August. I enjoyed my garden tour and also your Cannas.

That's a gorgeous hydrangea. All here are blue. Althea is blooming here too. There's even a crape myrtle with an open bloom head! Summer's here and I'm not ready.

Every time I go out and plant something, I find something else that needs rooting, like the Bath's pinks draping themselves over into the lawn.

Darla, I love four o'clocks, too. I fell for their fragrance years ago...when I was a college student. Here's the funny thing; I cannot get them started here! They just don't like the concrete we call soil! The projects look like fun...and yippee it rained. gail

Hopefully, I will have enough flowers next week to participate as well. You certainly have a lovely assortment, Darla. I love the keychains and the tiles in the last post. Hope your hip is better. Have a great weekend!

Darla your hydrangea is so pretty. I am surprised Astilbe grows well in your area because of the heat. Goes to show I know nothing. LOL! Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mothers Day!

So glad to hear you got some rain. I'm still waiting for it to come my way. Things are very crispy. My four-o'clocks open at 8AM and PM. Go figure.

The scent of 4 O'clocks is one of my favorites! The canna is most pretty. Here in Jackson they grow that sensitive plant and all visitors love it. They are not hardy here but make good houseplants for us.

I'm back and forth on 4 o'clocks too.

Love that pink hydrangea. How nice that it's blooming for you even when it spent so much time in a pot.

I'm SO glad to hear you're getting rain! Thank you Lord.

I like that mimosa pudica!
My MIL has a rose of sharon and I love those. Do you know if I could take a cutting from it or maybe some seeds? How do you reproduce them?
