More Blooms and Birds..

This is my four way shepard's hook, I have two Proven Winners Raspberry Blast Petunias in the front and back, two Proven Winners Peter's Gold Carpet on both sides. I was worried for a while that they were not going to fill in, no worries now! Thank you Anna at http://flowergardengirl.wordpress.com for your Proven Winners post which sent me out on a mission to find them.Ms. Doris, the Sweet Peas are beginning to bloom!

Finally, a Hyacinth Bean Vine Bloom.

I am still watching this Blackeyed Susan bloom here. So many stalks have grown together I can hardly wait to see what the bloom looks like.

It could be a Muppet !
Do you have any idea how startled you can get when you put your fingers in a container to check the moisture level and a Bird flies out on top of your hand! Guess I'll be leaving this container alone. It's either a House Finch or a Wren, forget what hubby told me. The little reddish brown birds.
Firebush is back.

Seriously ya'll, do Cleome started from seed often have two colors on them. No the lighter color is not faded.

This little guy was a true Busy Bee!

I just love the Tiger Lilies and have been kicking myself for not buying more of them.

Here we have a couple of more visitors, Woodpecker in the Pear Tree. Red bellied?

The Hummingbirds just love the overcast rainy days.

I have had many of you ask how many different types of flowers I have. Yes, I still have some about to bloom that I have not posted yet. A couple of summers ago one of the girls and I made a list, then is was about 160. Now ya'll have me curious. I am going to start a new list and let you know. I am curious to know how many flowers you have in your garden. Ms. Doris, what about you?

Wow, you do have quite a variety of flowers! It would be fun for everyone to do a count for a year to see how many different flowers we each have blooming.

Your petunias are beautiful!

I've never heard of a fire bush before. I'm going to have to look that one up. I would say you are a couple of weeks ahead of us on the blooms! Everything looks great!

Darla (love your wheelbarrow), are you growing your Hyacinth Bean as an ornament or as a legume? That "Oscar the Grouch" plant is pretty neat. How many flowers do you have?

Love the sweetpeas! I've also been thinking about making a list of all my plants and where they are planted. You definitely have more flowers than I do. I have a lot of flowering shrubs.

Hi Darla, I've grown that cleome, think it's called Pink Queen. Love the large and varied selection of flowers you have. BTW, your wheelbarrow on the side bar looks fantastic!

Very pretty. I'm trying to find cleome here.
How neat to find the birds nest. It'll be fun to see the babies grow.
Love the muppet flower too.

Thank you for linking to me. I love the petunias. I had one grow 10 feet last year and went way past frost. It's a plant I can rely on consistently.

Love all your other bloomers too!

Hi Darla, how sweet are those little bird eggs!!! The rudbeckia is almost scary with that bud too, sort of like the Little Shop of Horrors monster plant. I am trying to make lists of each type of plant we grow here. I got the deciduous azaleas done, 36 I believe was the number. There is an old list of the daylilies, 75 and still counting. There is no way to count the total number, infinity and beyond! :-)

That's a Pileated Woodpecker, Darla... He's bigger than a Red-bellied.

Love your little bird nest.. How sweet. It looks like a Carolina Wren egg--and they do nest in containers or hanging baskets.

Beautiful flowers. I cannot believe how many you have. Glad you can keep up with their names. Wow!

Have a great and wonderful day. Hope you are feeling better.
Hugs,
Betsy

Betsy: Sorry that is not a pileated, ours around here so huge they look prehistoric!! We have about 4 probably 5 different types of woodpeckers that live in our backwoods. Some days it sounds like a bunch of monkeys with jackhammers!!

Wow - 160?!! Seriously, you've inspired me to go buy more flowers for the cabin.

Beautiful flowers..I'll get that far some day. I have Carolina wrens nesting both at my front and back doors.

Gorgeous flower photos as usual. I had one of those raspberry supertunias several years ago and your photo reminded me to look for one again. Aren't they pretty?

I look forward to your next garden walk update - I'm holding out for the 1st of the month.

That would be a little scary to have the bird fly out. I love the cleome and your petunias too - I haven't seen those before. WoW 160 flowers a few years ago. I use to have an index with their names and needs and even the page to find them on in the Western Gardener but after getting a computer the disk wasn't compatible with the word processor so . . . I never re did it. I should. Good idea for everyone to make a list. I'm sure mine will be the shortest with all of you great gardeners around here. ;-)

I wouldn't even know where to begin...I added about 30 new plants last season alone. ;) Your blooms look great & thanks again for sharing your walking Iris with me. I'm just now getting to comments. Another hectic day in my house.

If only we could be neighbors, maybe you would share your beautiful flowers with me. I say that because my neighbors and I are always sharing flowers with each other, and you really have a lot of them... Thanks for sharing the photos.

Blessings,
Elizabeth

Does look like a Red Bellied to me. Cannot see him good enough to tell if male or female. The red goes all the way across his head on the male. Has a break in the red if a female.
