Bloomin' Tuesday & What a Weekend!

Linking up with Jean for our Tuesday Tours....I do have a lot going on in the gardens but only posted three flower photos due to a busy, fun weekend.  It is familyandflowers you know..
Daylily
Daylily purchased off the distressed rack last year so I hadn't a clue to it's color.  Think I"ll keep it.
Am I clueless when it comes to Agapanthus?  This one was the standard purple when I planted it.  Why is it now white?  Extreme heat, drought, age?  or Luck?  I have always wanted a white one.
If you are only here for the flowers, stop now.

We had a girls weekend...NO BOYS ALLOWED...okay well maybe just one and only for a very short time, when he left he was hanging his head....  This is our wonderful Head 'Husher' from church. When he dropped his wife, (my bff) off,  our youngest challenged him to a 3 out of 5 basketball tourney.  Loser buys the other supper.  When are you picking her up? :) (thermometer reads 94 in the background and that was about 6:00p.m.)
(youngest daughter)

I was very excited for one of our daughters (right) to have this student hang out with us, see she was visiting from France!  I read a lot of French inspired blogs which are so interesting, I couldn't wait to chat with her.  By the way, don't believe everything the French "inspired" blogs post..It's better to read the blogs that are actually posting from France. (and she wanted to see my gardens!)
(oldest daughter in high school)
I showed her how to make a domino necklace.
Mix up powder and tie dye t shirts. I wish you could have seen her precious face when my daughter pointed to her own tie dyed shirt and said, "Would you like to make one of these?"  She made two!
The older girls chatting up the differences in their cultures. I did hear a lot of  "how do you say?"
If this student is any indication of the French people, they have a lot to be proud of!!  We so enjoyed her visit and exchanged information so we can keep in touch.  My daughter made a piece of clay work at school, it broke in half..so, she decorated one half and our guest the other, then they exchanged the halves...isn't that just the sweetest?
We sent her home with a necklace, keychain, two tie dyed shirts, two small packs of kool-aid (she had never heard of), the clay piece, a pair of jeans and my bff gave her a FSU baseball cap from the business she runs.  (She is interested in the film school at FSU)

Now, the youngest daughter in high school and her friends.  This group was full of energy and chatter!  They played Monopoly ( i see an empty cookie plate right in the center of the playing board), watched a movie, played in her garden which has a rope swing,
AND
colored their hair with Kool-Aid...the entire yard and house had a hint of grape and cherry in the air.
We had hamburgers, baked beans and tater tots..Ice cream, cookies and soda....
It really was a delightful weekend and I pray it will be a sweet memory for all involved...
(win or lose) :)

What a precious weekend! Such great pictures that helped tell the wonderful story~
Hey, I wanted to tell you I have used alcohol inks. We used them on Mason jars at my daughters wedding. I like them but am not crazy in love with them " yet". I'm thinking of giving them a try again then spraying the jars with a spray sealant. Have you tried them?

How wonderful it is to have someone from another country into your home! This reminds me of our recent visitors from the UK. There is no better way for us to learn about another culture from one on one visits in your home. This will be a weekend your girls will cherish for years to come. Maybe they can visit their new friend in her home country some day. Such a wonderful experience for all the girls...

I love daylilies, yours from the bargain rack are cool! What a fun weekend your girls had with their French friend. I never knew you could color your hair with Koolaid.

It will be remembered, that's for sure. What a fun time. Your daughters and their friends look so happy.

The daylilies are amazing. It pays to check out the "distressed" aisle, doesn't it? I love the white agapanthus too. I used to have one and I loved it. They're marginally hardy here though. Or else I got tired of it, who knows? I miss it though.

Thanks for sharing your fun weekend. You amaze me!

Hey, I need a "girls only" weekend! That looks like so much fun. My friends and I have been trying to plan a "girls night" for over a year now. Life just keeps us all so busy. Maybe I just need to take our camper and park it at the local lake campground and invite the girls over.

That first daylily looks like one of the 'Candy' series. The second one looks like 'Desperado' as best I remember it. Mine died. Just my luck, a daylily with a tough name and a tender disposition.

I've never seen an Agapanthus bleach out. My brugmansia turned white after a rain but the next day it was back to pink. I have a single Agapanthus bud, can hardly wait to see if it will be still be blue.
