Check This Out...

This evening my husband and I were on the back top deck looking at the trees and the sky. We saw a flock of birds in this one tree, about 8 of them, didn't have my camera, it was on the kitchen counter, by the time I got back outside they were gone. I gave him the camera and told him, "if they come back you take a picture." One came back . Didn't he do a wonderful job? Is this an Oriole? He thinks it is and he is pretty smart with the bird ID's. Click to enlarge to see the colors. Then I just had to share this with you. I know it's not Skywatch Friday, just beautiful to me.

Hi Darla,
Good shots of the bird, and the moon! I'm not sure about the ID, but I think it looks more like a Robin. I don't think the Oriole has that light colored backside. One day when I went outside, a big tree had a flock of Robins in it. I had never seen that many in one flock before. Maybe one of the bird experts can identify this bird for you.

Darla-I tend to agree with Dorothy. Looks like a robin to me too. But I'm not sure. I saw that beautiful moon today while I was at work.

Love the moon shots! Katie learned the word "crescent" and says it whenever we see a moon like this. "Oooh - id's a creshent."

She says it about bananas now, too.

We thought they were Robins too and then my husband said but look, at something, I don't remember what, the he said, could it possibly be an Oriole?

Whether it's a Robin or Oriole - he has a beautiful full belly! The moon shots were nice to behold!

Darla: What a neat photo of the bird and a great moon photo that would be great for SWF. The moon in Florida is always so neat. It must be the clear skies.

I like your moon photos. I kind of think your bird is a robin. Maybe one of the ones who spent the summer here;)

The moon and the planets have put on a great show this week. Nice capture of the moon! I love the birds in winter...Robins seem to hang out in flocks during the chilly days.

Darla, the moon shot is glorious. The robins for the most part have left up here and have migrated to your area and farther south for the winter so you will get to enjoy them for a few months.
