Look What I Got Today!

We had one of the best Christmases yet. Christmas Eve we sat on the front porch, Raechel played Christmas songs on her flute and my husband whistled songs for us. We love doing this!We had a wonderful time waiting for the oldest to get home from Daytona Beach. Finally we got to bed around midnight, it was worth the wait. No photos of that though.
My birthday is tomorrow. I received some cash from Grandpoppy for my birthday and a gift card to Lowes from my husband for Christmas...(along with many other great gifts) anyway today I bought lattice and my husband built me this!

This will be great for my flowering vines.......I can hardly wait for spring to get started planting them. (where the is parked car is, is the downstairs apartment where Grandpoppy lives)
This is actually on the side of the house. Don't you think it will look great? I know this time of the year the gardens look dreadful............I still have a lot of grass to get up too. It's shaping up though. Tomorrow if it's not raining I get the stepping stones for my walkway to the potting shed!

The lattice is lovely--and I like the 'doorway' between each side:) It will look beautiful when your flowering vines take over. I will be excited to watch it all come together Darla! And, a very Happy Birthday to you:) Jan (My son has a Dec. 20th b.d., and my husband's and my 31st anniversary is tomorrow, the 28th!!).

Well, first of all, a very Happy Birthday to you, Darla! How very fun you got your lattice and that hubby is so quick to get it put in place for you. It will be a nice "wall" for your flowering vine in the spring. You are a smart girl to use these winter months getting ready for spring!

Glad you had a "best Christmas yet"!

I like the pics of your daughter and her flute. Of course the garden pics were great, too. You'll have fun planting vines and watching them grow.

Happy New Year!

Happy Birthday tomorrow, Darla... I love the lattice --and can't wait to see the climbing plants/flowers grow there. We have Clematis that grows up the gross telephone pole in the corner of our yard. That helps hide that piece of yuk!!!! ha....

I love hearing the flute.. I'm so glad you had such a wonderful Christmas and Christmas Eve.
Hugs,
Betsy

Happy Birthday Darla! Hope your day is special.

Your lattice wall looks wonderful even before you get the vines going. A good back to the bed. And what fun to have gift card to Lowe's. A very usable gift for a gardener.
