The Critters Just Keep On Coming...I Love It!

Isn't this the bug they use to make red dye?
Funny looking little bug. Gotta click and enlarge this one.........

Oh yeah, don't know if any of ya'll are familiar with the dreaded Lovebugs. I guess it's time for them again. We get them twice a year and they are a pain.

Another Butterfly, this one is Fast!

I really like this Amaranthus, (Chinese Spinach)

Celosia.

Um, Cumquats, Kumquats, spelling? too tired to look it up.

Grapefruits are hanging in there.

I posted the other day that I was ill about my Angel Trumpet Tree, (still am) although I did find this today.

It might make it........

This one bloom is trying hard to hang on.

A good seed pod.......did Leedra say the seeds were poisonous?

Will be gathering these seeds to try and start more Angel Trumpet Trees.

A peek of the sunset.

I just "love" your bugs. lol!

I've only had one experience with lovebugs. Just before a hard rain on Coco Beach, we were swarmed. I don't remember any orange on them though? I didn't mind them once I saw they didn't bite, but they ran off most of the other beach-goers.

Hope your plant makes it!
Joy to you,
Teresa

I love your bugs too. I really love that angel trumpet tree. I had one last year but it didn't make it. I need to try another one.

Darla: I think I loved the big butterfly best of all. You have a grouping of wonderful captures, nicely done.

I don't know much about bugs really, so why are love bugs such a pain? (Other than the fact that they belong to the creepy crawly family)

I can answer dorkys r.'s question....love bugs swarm by the thousands (maybe millions) all over the place while they are mating, and you get them all over your cars when you drive and practically breathe the things when you walk around outside. Fortunately this phenomenon doesn't last long. Lived a few places that had them over the years.

I hope your angel trumpet plant makes it too, darla! Your critter pictures are amazing, by the way!

Thanks guys.the tile lady answered the love bug question correct. They will drive you mad! Thanks fishing guy. I only use two settings on my camera, trying to figure it out.

That's good news on your angel trumpet tree! Hope it survives, and if not, it looks like there are some seeds that will help you start some new ones :D

The Datura seeds (which a lot of people call Angel Trumpets) are poisonous. I don't know about the real Angel Trumpets. Ours comes back, but the one like you have I can't seem to get to return. I don't think they are even the same plant family, although everybody calls them the same thing. Be sure and let the seeds dry on their own. I love the insect collections you have been showing. Keep them coming.

Thanks so much for the lesson, tile lady! I never knew that and I hope I never wind up living along one of their mating spots. I'd probably never leave the house.
