Comment on Answering Comments..

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment on this issue. Now I know there is no "unspoken" rule as to how or when you answer your comments and questions. I personally do check back for an answer to questions, especially if I am having a fit to know about a paticular plant. For those of you that answer every comment, and you know who you are, BIG KUDOS to you!! This little experiment of mine has shown me just how time consuming trying to answer every question AND reply to all comments can be.

I still think for the most part, BLOGGERS ARE THE GREATEST!!

Now, I am off to my neighbor's garden to see what she has going on........will post about it when I return.

You're right: I love the code of the blogger. We are a different bread, ... now only if the rest of the world would oblige and follow our example!!!

Hi Darla, I'm answering your question on this post since I seemed to have missed the last one. If I ask a question on someones blog I always go back to check for an answer. I don't really know how I got started leaving responses to peoples comments but I think that helps me get to know that blogger better. I must admit it takes lots of time to do this and with spring and work starting up I may not have time to do this. I'll just have to wait and see.

Good morning, to answer the question on the previous post (a little late I know) I often ask questions. A lot of bloggers don't comment on their own blogs but some do. Time! Everybody has to manage their time in the best way they can. I'm finding it very difficult to visit friend's blogs, answer comments, and have time to post my own blog.

Hi Darla~
I find that I go back and forth. When I first started blogging I always would check to see if a question was answered and now I will often go look the next time I visit the blog. On my own blog I try to answer questions in a timely fashion, but I like to use most of my extra time visiting other blogs and leaving a comment. It always makes me feel good when a visitor leaves a comment, so I try to say something whenever I visit. I have great admiration to those bloggers who answer every comment...someday I'll have the extra time to be one of them :)

Hope your visit to the neighbor's garden was fun!

I think it's up to each blogger and what they feel like doing. I usually respond to most comments cause I like gabbing with every one, but I could see where it could become very time consuming if you have a large blog.

Glad to have gotten to the bottom of this! I shall conduct an experiment of my own to expand on your results. (I was a psych major and we did time consuming, non-necessary, follow-up experiments all the time.)

Hi Darla. I left a comment on your "Plot" on Blotanical and noticed you don't check in very often. I left another post today. I just wanted to let you know that I received the seeds. The zinnia and hibiscus are a huge bonus. Thank you so much. I think I will scatter a few celosia seeds now and see what happens. If they don't germinate I'll wait and try again when the soil is warmer. I'll send a picture. You're the greatest.

I enjoyed both of these posts, Darla. I am one who 'tried' to leave a comment back if someone commented on my blog... BUT--that got to be harder and harder--since my blog is large. AND--I don't think many people check back. (I know that I don't...) Even when I ask a question, I generally forget about it once I've been to a couple more blogs.)

I still enjoy EMAIL---and find that the people I email with become extra-special friends.

Hugs,
Betsy
