Deepest Gratitude!!

The outpouring of love and prayers from all of you has touched our family to the core of our hearts. Bloggers that I am not familiar with as well as those that I am, have sent the most sincere comments during this battle that my family is in. I have come to realize that my family is under attack by the enemy, his objective: to rob, steal and destroy the Lord's people. As we, including all of you, unite as the family of Christians that we are, STAND, Satan WILL be defeated. He has no power over us unless we allow ourselves to operate in the spirit of fear.
We are choosing to pull ourselves up by our boot strings, put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. As much as I would love to get my hands on the people who committed this horrible crime, I am "trying" to remember that they too, were created in the image of God and are being used as vessels for Satan to do his dirty work. Little do these criminals realize, Satan is destroying them in the process. As you continue to pray for my family I would like to ask that you pray for those that committed this crime. PRAYER IS POWERFUL!! Wouldn't it be a miracle if our prayers collectively solve this crime?

My son ask that I tell all of you how touched he is by your concern and prayers for him. He seems much better this morning. Fight the good fight!!

Love and prayers to all of you from all of us.
Darla

Yes Darla, prayer is powerful.. AND--you know that all of us are praying hard for you and your son and family. I have found that some of the best people in the world are my blogger friends. These are great people---and we know that ultimately, God is in control.

Praises to you and your family and may God continue to bless all of you and bring healing to your and yours.
Love and Prayers,
Betsy

You are such an inspiration. I know we are to pray for our enemies, but had I in this situation? No I had to have you remind me to. Still praying and added the enemy to the prayer, and the authorities. Does that take away from praying for the enemy? Hope not!

darla,
you are a warrior mom and i love that. we are to stand in the gap for our children and our enemies.
God so loved the world(including thieves) that He gave His only Son for them that they might be saved.
i am so delighted to hear things are on the mend and you are in a good place in your spirit.
love to you and your precious family!

Dear Darla,
How precious it is to me that the Holy Spirit led you to even pray for the enemies!!! It takes a true Christian to do that. Things will get better for you and your family. We just have to stay on guard and stay close to the Lord. Satan continues to roam the earth seeking whom he may devour.
I will continue to lift you and your son up in my prayers. It's just wonderful that we can be open enough to share our needs as well as our joys!!!

Counting My Blessings

You have such a big heart Darla - I don't know that I could pray for these criminals except to hope that a shred of humanity returns to them and they turn themselves in. I am hoping that we hear they are caught soon from you. Is it known whether there have been other simliar home invasions in the neighborhood? I pray for your son's physical and emotional recovery as well as your family's peace.

Darla, I am so relieved to hear your son is better. I'm sure it will be a while before he feels truly safe again. I pray that your family will heal quickly and that the men who hurt your son can change for the better.

Oh, Darla, I just read about what happened! My heart goes out to you. I cannot imagine having that happen to one of my sons.

Oddly enough, it happened to us back in December 2006, but my husband was the one affected (though not with the physical violence). Our sons and I slept through the whole thing. But still, the emotional aftermath of an event like that can be severe.

I appreciate your spiritual perspective and the concern you have for the souls of the intruders. It truly is a spiritual battle we're involved in.

Please know that I'm sending a hug through the Internet to you, and will add your son and your whole family to my prayer journal.

Take care, and may God's comfort be very real to all of you in the days to come.

Amazingly this morning on the news here in NYC they covered a story just like this .. seriously .. right down to the cracking of the head with a rifle .. on Long Island last nite. I was shocked ... especially since this post stuck with me (as did Jan's where I read about this). Do you live on Long Island? Perhaps you can tell the police about the amazing coincidence of the same exact thing happening there ...

Darla,
I read this at work the other day, and planned to post my comment when I got home. I've had a variety of things going on that have caused me to get behind in my blogging. Nothing like yours, though.

I just wanted to let you know, that I had already included the intruders in my prayers. I didn't want to tell you, because some victims are not ready to hear something like that, and may never pray for those who have done something like that to them.

Of course, now you have the media and law enforcement to forgive. I would definitely get a retraction, or statement from your son concerning
their further victimization in this way. It's almost like saying a woman dressing a certain way invites crimes against her, except your son did not sell drugs! It makes no sense for them to insinuate your son and friends had been selling drugs.

I hope your son and his friends are healing.
