Still Trying To Photograph Birds...

Man, we have birds out of the wa-zoo! If only I could capture them like Dorothy, Leedra and so many others of you. I'm still trying ya'll.

Chickadee
Woodpecker, forget which one this is, we have so many around here.
You can see his bright red head good here. (although the pic is blurry) Did you know that the male Woodpecker has a red mustache and the female has a black one? At least the Pileated one.
Mean ole Mockingbird
flew up in the tree. I call them mean because they are. We had an area downtown a few year back where the Mockingbirds were flying down at the pedestrians.

You're doing fine, Darla... I think your bird pictures are very good. We all struggle trying to get the BEST ones we can. Sometimes the birds cooperate and sometimes not!!!!

How are you??? The kids????
Hugs,
Betsy
You'll have to check out my blog today. I showed pictures of our woodpeckers.

Tootsie: We are doing very well. Thank you for asking and please keep praying. You have the MOST entertaining blog!!

Terrie: Oh yes, we have four bird feeders out front with to suet feeders.

Betsy: The kids are doing just great, thanks. I'm just a Mom praying all the time.

Craig Glenn: Thanks for the ID on the woodpecker, now that I red that, I knew that!

Shellmo and Patsy: Thanks for the encouragement.

Rosemarie: Thanks for the compliment on the big kids, they really are great people. I actually like them, LOL.

Twisted: You keep trying too. I don't give up very easily!

I think birds are the hardest things to take pictures of they are always on the move. You got some great shots.

I think out of all the woodpeckers, I enjoy the red-bellied the most. We had a pair fledge a baby in the neighbborhood last year and they just stole my heart.

You did well and it is always to difficult to capture birdies ;)

Lovely pictures. I have a new camera so I really want to get a telephoto lens for bird shots, especially as I'm planning to go back to Iceland in the summer... I have a lot to learn though!

I like your bird pics. I have been trying to get pics of my sparrows, but they don't turn out clear like yours. I guess that means they're out of focus. My dove family is back. I hope to get some pics of them when it warms up enough. Right now, it's 0 degrees and "fair". So what if it's fair, its COLD!

I have noticed the days getting longer. Praise God! I am glad to hear you're family is on the mend. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Bird pics are not easy. Just when you think they'll stand still, they're off. But I think you did a great job.

Darla, You are doing fine. They are hard to shoot because they are so quick and just when he's in focus, 'poof', and he's gone! I don't see any woodpeckers here yet.
I'm keeping you and yours on my prayer list.

I like them lots and think anytime you catch a bird is a good time indeed. I read about your family on your sidebar. Lovely and charming--all of you.

That is a red bellied woodpecker....I know his head is red (and it is the male), but he also has a red belly.

Darla: Very neat shots of your birds. I'm not seeing many now.

They often don't cooperate and pose for me either! I see them at the planter...get the camera and they disappear. I love the woodpecker shot with the blue sky! Gail

Your making me jealous with all the flowers and birds! It was -2 degrees here last night. Hope your son is healing quickly.

Those pic's are fine...any with birds in them I love. Your red bellied woodpecker shots are good--they are hard to get just the right shot. Only once or twice have they had their whole body turned my way while on a tree. I love seeing them, as well as all the others. I am in awe of your flowers, I have only some indoor ones and I still haven't posted them for GBBD. I'll probably get around to it tonight. I'm always late, for everything (lately) it seems;)
How is your family? I hope things are settling down. Jan
